Clients include fund management companies Fidelity
International, FundsNetwork, Morley Fund Management, Schroders,
M&G, Aberdeen Asset Management, Lazard and others.
Work has also been undertaken for Apple Computer,
Dow Jones International, Morgan Stanley, EMAP, Citywire and others.
Case Study - Event Production
One example of a recent project that was undertaken
was an investment conference for our client FundsNetwork.
The brief was to provide event management support
for the planning, technical production and management of the event.
A lead time of 6 months was given.
The objective was to produce an event that was highly
professional, and communicated the brand values and market positioning
of FundsNetwork to the fund companies presenting and exhibiting
at the event, press attendance, and an expected audience of 400-500
IFAs.
Impel Communications sourced a venue that would
meet the required standard for the event, that had space to accommodate
the expected audience, but also would allow the technical production
to add to the overall event experience.
Management of the event included guiding an event
project team consisting of various members of the client's marketing
and partner relationship teams. Each member had specific objectives
and responsibilities for the event. The team met on a weekly basis
leading up to the event, and accountability for tasks undertaken
was driven by the production schedule prepared by Impel.
A strong theme was developed by the client, which formed the basis
for the subject matters that the guest presenters would address.
The theme was visualised by the client's regular design resources
for the purposes of the printed invite and adverts.
This visual theme was subsequently taken on board
by Impel and interpreted for the design of a stage set. The stage
set designs were strengthened with a suitable lighting, sound and
projection configuration that provided strong impact.
All production elements were designed, proofed,
and constructed to budget and on time. Installation on site was
completed in good time, even though the venue had time and stringent
noise restrictions in place. A 5 hour window had been provided by
the venue for building all the structural elements before the event
started.
Crowd control and directional signage was planned
and arranged by Impel Communications, as was a system for registering
each delegate within 20 seconds of arriving on site.
A small exhibition accompanied the conference and
catering points were positioned to ensure that all stands could
be visited.
Movement on the stage was choreographed by Impel
Communications and presentation aids were prepared to allow a smooth
running of the speeches, transitions and Q&A sessions. Presenters
were individually prepared for their specific contributions and
guided through the event as required.
Management of the event planning process, as well
as the logistics and coordination with the venue remained with Impel
Communications until all the accounts for the event were settled
by the client.
